Senuti - unlock your iPod.

Do you want to be able to share your iPod music to your desktop? Senuti might be a solution. I have a Mac at work and one at home and want to be able to keep them in sync. A regular mp3 player/usb hard disk works but using an iPod to do this was needlessly difficult. This is pretty much the only reason I don't own an iPod.

  • I've had an iPod for a while and keeping my music in sync between my work computer and my laptop at home has been frustrating. Yesterday I found the "smart sync" feature of "iPodRip". It's not the greatest interface and it seems slow but it does exactly what I want which is two way sync the songs in iTunes to the songs on on my iPod.

  • Hi, I'm really ticked off I have not found a answer on this page. But my iPod is locked too.

    The other day I was messing with the combination because I was board (So Me!) and I accendntly selected lock screen and now i'm stuck. my powerbook (primary computer) had to be reinstalled is like a new machine to my iPod. I don't wan't to restore because I will loose all my holiday photos and music. Pleeeeeeeeeeese help me!

  • unlock your ipod (ipod nano and video)

    go to mapoptions
    choose the tab "view"
    choose "show hidden files and folders"
    click ok

    connect the ipod to your computer
    go to the folder "ipod_control" on the ipod and choose the folder "device"
    change the filename of te file "_locked" to "_unlocked" (the _ must be includit)
    open the file with the notepad and delete the line with tekst
    save the file in the same folder and call it "_unlocked"
    disconnect your ipod from the computer and you are now in the normal menu`s and

    all the files and music are saved

    1/ plug it in ur comp, dis didnt work for my nano

    2/ try to remember the code :D /didnt work for me again

    3/ go to

    NUMBER 2 , 3 AND 4(solutions) i hadn't tried, but found it after i unlocked my ipod, number 4 is the solution i did and it worked... hopely one of these works for u

    5/ go to
    -start-->control panel---> apperance and themes-->folder options--->clicke the view tab--> under hidden files and folder --> click the circle at the sdide of show hidden files and folder --->click apply

    -connect the ipod to your computer-->go to your computer -->double click on ur ipod-->go to folder "ipod_control"-->then delete the the folder that says "_locked" and hopely it works..

    Step one: Have hidden files viewable.

    Step Two: Plug in the iPod, and open its folder. Go to iPod_Control. CUT all the folders and paste them into a new Folder on your Desktop. Unplug the iPod.

    Step Three: Select a language on the iPod. Plug it back into the computer. Cancel and close iTunes. Copy the all the folders _BUT_ the "device" folder back into "iPod_Control." Eject your iPod.

    IT IS NOW UNLOCKED WITH NO LOCK CODE!! And, be more careful next time.

  • Hello my name is Amanda and i also too forgot my code and every body said to go on itunes but that did not work but then i found a way it is very simple just go to restore your ipod.com and it should tell you how to start and end if you want print out the papers and follow the steps it should work it did for me and i put all my songs back on!!! when i forgot my code you helped me now i jused helped you!!!!!

  • Ok- I am not moronic unlike a lot of these people here who don't know how to read directions that have been posted about 50 times throughout this site; I read them all...However, i'm having trouble with the instruction about selecting the Ipod from "my computer"...my Ipod doesn't show up under my computer, just the drives, and when i click on them, nothing comes up pertaining to my Ipod...can someone please help?

  • This is the way to do it.
    This method will:
    1. Unlock ipod nano.
    2. Allow u a new 4 digit code.

    Here goes:
    1. Open "My Computer"
    2. In Menubar, Go to tools>options
    3. Choose the tab "view"
    4. Choose "show hidden files and folders"
    5. Click ok

    Now -
    1. Connect the ipod to your computer. It will show up as a "removable drive" in My Computer. Open this new removable drive.
    2. Go to the folder "ipod_control" on the ipod and choose the folder "device"
    3. Change the filename of the file "_locked" to "_unlocked" (the _ must be included)
    4. Open the file with the notepad and delete the line with text, add a new 4 digit code . This will be the new screenlock code.
    5. Save the file in the same folder.
    Disconnect your ipod from the computer.
    6. Keep the centre button and the top menubutton on the ipod pressed till the ipod resets. Now all the functions are back to normal,no music has been deleted, and the new code added above is the new screenlock code.

    And that's it.

  • Oh yes, sometimes ipod will not show up as a removable drive. U need to enable disk use in ipod. For that, these are the instructions:

    1. Connect your ipod
    2. Open iTunes (version 7 and above). On your left you have devices, and below that the connected ipod device. Click it.
    3. In the iPod screen which comes, click the box "enable disk use".
    4. Click on Apply.
    5. Now the earlier instructions can be used.

    Note
    In earlier versions of iTunes, the same option appeared in a different location. For those using earlier versions, after connecting the ipod, open iTunes, go to Edit> Preferences>iPod tab>Music tab. Near the bottom of the option screen, check the box labeled "Enable disk use".
