Make your desktop pretty

Old-school Mac users are well used to being able to customize their icons but new-skool users might not be aware of just how incredibly easy it is to change any icon on any file or folder on your Mac. If you've never purposefully changed your hard drive icon, head on over to InterfaceLIFT and prepare to be blown away by some most of the icons available there.

  • I find it interesting that in the same week general news about new pop under ads breaks, that you link us to a site that employs this new technique to invade my desktop with advertisements. This was the first popup ad I've had in over two years - ever since switching to Mac OS X.

  • Chris might be using PithHelmet. I didn't get any pop-unders on that site, but it's rather sleazy if they're using that technique.

    Nope actually I just use Pith Helmet and haven't seen a pop-up, pop-under, or ad in months. I actually forgot they exist.

    Might I recommend installing Pith Helmet?
