BBEdit 8. Yes, it's worth the upgrade price. Cory had to change his drawers after he upgraded. Of course, he should have at least cross-posted that here, but he's busy so I'll give him a break. You don't have to though ;-)
It's not all fawning praise though, Andrei Herasimchuk is wondering why the icon still sucks. (Update: Jon Hicks graciously provides a better icon.)
John Gruber, the Daring Fireball that he is, leads the way with a codeless language module for apache config files. Although he admitted that he had a head start with a beta copy of 8, but that's okay. We'll let him slide on that one.

To be quite honest, I'm a little surprised I haven't seen the usual "they want how much for a text editor?!?!" rection... Maybe people have finally come to grips with the fact that BBEdit is more than a text editor. Or those people just decided to use what they were using and keep quiet...

I've been using the demo for a couple days now, having been stubbornly using version 6.5 since... well, since I upgraded from 4.x. I like it. Featurewise, the program continues to grow nicely, and feels a bit more OS X-ish now. Which is not to say that the interface is cruftless. The preferences dialog really needs a thorough reworking (It's so complex I find myself wanting to be able to *search* it by keyword) and the menus are getting pretty crowded. It has a way to fall before it's in the same league as interface-hall-of-shame leaders like DeBabelizer and Graphic Converter, though...
